"This split CD marks the first release from Warbird Entertainment. It features Germans, Andernach based, STAGE DISASTER and Americans THE DEFICIT ( who hail from St.Louis ). 6 tracks each. STAGE DISASTER offers their blend of HC-punk that varies much from song to song and clearly draws clues from street-punk ( ‘The Reaper’ with its three chords and hey, hey, hey a go-go! and ‘Way To Go’ ), NY hardcore ( ‘Collision’ the heaviest of the lot ), melodic HC-punk a la Pennywise ( Beautiful Bitch ) and gothic-punk in the vein of Misfits ( Living Dead ). Songwriting here is very basic but their tracks boast a vitriol-soaked voice and a rough-in-your-face production that will sure leave kids bruised and battered on dance floors if these tunes are played loud in a club. With THE DEFICIT instead we have a mix of fast melodic hardcore-punk mid 90’s Cali style with hints of metal and a voice that reminds me at times Bad Religion’s Graffin and Hüsker Dü’s Mould, but it just doesn’t catch me enough."
